blues meets bluegrass

the band

Tim Saunders.

Guitar (6 and 12 string), bottleneck guitar, 5 string banjo. vocals.

Tim Saunders is an avid writer for the band. He started with a bluegrass band in northern NSW way back in the early 80's. After a long sabbatical (about 25 years!) he decided to play with the idea of writing music but with a style that was founded in the roots of bluegrass. The CD coming home was created as a result of merging those styles.

A chance meeting with mandolin guru Rowlie Walker was the catalyst to the formation of the band Seagrass.

Outside the music, Tim is a keen surfer, works as an analyst programmer at Rio Tinto Alumimium in Bell Bay, Tasmania and has a small hobby farm on the edge of Launceston with his wife Vicki and their 3 kids.
